The Rio-Antirio bridge…
The Rio-Antirio bridge in western Greece, as seen in the reflection of one of the bulldozers and other pieces of heavy machinery used to block motorists’ access to tolls yesterday. Workers were protesting the lack of a landfill in the area where they can dump construction waste. The 770-million-euro bridge – one of the largest infrastructure projects built in the country recently – extends 2.25 kilometers (1.4 miles) and connects Rio in the northern Peloponnese with Antirio in western Greece.
