The Evzones elite guard walk past the Parthenon during a ceremony to mark United Nations Day yesterday morning. Greece will organize this year’s annual concert in New York today to mark the UN’s coming into force on October 24, 1945, according to the Greek Foreign Affairs Ministry. An exhibition titled ‘In Praise of the Olive,’ emphasizing the mythology and history of the olive in the Mediterranean region and in Greek culture, is also being held in the UN building.
