Windsurfers took…

Windsurfers took advantage yesterday of strong winds, which reached speeds of 9 Beaufort, off Loutsa, northeast of Athens. But the stormy weather caused problems for others in the capital. Authorities received more than 70 calls for help – most of them from the northern suburbs – to pump water from flooded homes or to remove felled trees. Weathermen said yesterday’s temperature did not exceed 10C (50F) and was recorded as the coldest day in October in the last 18 years.
