Ambulance drivers…

Ambulance drivers cruise through central Athens yesterday as part of a 24-hour strike by National First Aid Center (EKAB) staff. Employees said they would stage four-hour work stoppages in the morning and afternoon on Thursday and Friday. They also plan to hold another 24-hour strike next Monday. EKAB representatives met with Deputy Health Minister Thanassis Yiannopoulos to ask for more hirings, larger bonus payments and for their profession to be classified as hazardous and unhealthy.
