Porn film gang in custody
Eight people have been arrested as alleged members of a gang which encouraged underage girls into prostitution in Athens while also filming porn films at an apartment in the fashionable Kolonaki neighborhood, police said yesterday. The head of the ring is a 42-year-old Greek man who owns a bar in Palaio Faliron, officers said. Police did not provide details about the other four men and three women who were arrested. The gang allegedly helped young foreign women, some of whom were underage, into prostitution. They charged clients 300 euros for each meeting. The suspects also used an apartment on Asclepiou Street to make pornography films which they circulated in video clubs. Police made arrests after an undercover officer worked as a driver for the gang, capturing footage using a hidden camera. Prosecutor Dimitris Papangelopoulos had cleared the use of the camera. Two women officers pretending to be interested in starring in the porn films were offered 10,000 euros per month by the 42-year-old.
