A 14-year-old boy accidentally killed his brother in Pyrgos in the southwestern Peloponnese when a gun he was handling accidentally went off, police said on Saturday. A single bullet hit the 16-year-old victim’s right eye, fatally wounding him. The boys were on the family’s farm on the outskirts of Pyrgos. It was not immediately clear who owned the gun or what type of weapon it was. Police said that the 14-year-old boy told his father about the accident. The father then called authorities. Doctors confirmed the 16-year-old boy’s death after he was taken to a nearby hospital. A child psychologist is expected to assist when police question the victim’s brother, who was in shock after the shooting, police said.
