Olympiakos maintained its two-point lead at the top of the soccer Super League with a comfortable 4-0 win over struggling Larissa at the Karaiskaki Stadium last night. The Piraeus club opened the scoring in the 14th minute with Nigerian Haruna Babangida. A free kick from Brazilian star Rivaldo made it 2-0 early in the second half. Ecuadorian Felix Borja and Haris Pappas rounded off the scoring. Panathinaikos, in second place, survived an early shock to beat Apollon Kalamarias 3-2 at the Olympic Stadium thanks to two goals from Dimitris Papadopoulos and one from fellow striker Dimitris Salpigidis. Third-placed AEK kept up the pressure with a 2-1 win at Aegaleo despite having two players sent off. Both of AEK’s goals came from penalties struck by Brazilian Julio Cesar.
