Children from orphanages…
Children from orphanages and care homes run through a hall in the Presidential Palace in Athens, yesterday. President Karolos Papoulias opened the doors of his official residence to 500 children from various institutions across the country. Papoulias yesterday also awarded honorary distinctions to several eminent Greeks from the worlds of politics, culture and business. Among those honored during an official ceremony were former foreign minister Petros Molyviatis, who was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Phoenix. Singer Nana Mouskouri was among those named Supreme Commander of the Order of Benefaction.
