Tourists gaze at the Parthenon on the rock of the Acropolis from afar yesterday as industrial action by the monument’s guards meant that it remained closed to visitors this weekend. Many tourists decided to go to the top of Philopappou Hill for the best view of the Acropolis and to take some photographs.The guards at the Acropolis are due to begin another four-day strike on Saturday. They are demanding permanent work contracts and better pay.
