Preteen boys arrested for robbery rampage
Police on Sunday arrested three boys, between the ages of 12 and 13, after they went on a rampage over the weekend in Xanthi, northern Greece, smashing a storefront window and stealing small amounts of cash from two stores and a taverna, authorities said yesterday. The suspects are believed to have broken into a taverna early on Sunday and stolen 15 euros and a mobile phone. The three of them then smashed the front window of a retail store and proceeded to steal 26 euros in coins and another two mobile phones. Police said two of the boys also confessed to having broken into a fishing-goods store on Saturday and stealing 190 euros. They then handed over the money to the third member of the group, who appears to be their leader, police added.
