Independence for Kosovo…
Albanian President Bamir Topi (right) and his Greek counterpart Karolos Papoulias review the presidential guard in Athens yesterday. Topi said that independence for Kosovo would be a ‘valuable contribution to peace’ in the area. Last-ditch talks on the future of Kosovo began in Austria yesterday. The future of the province is also likely to feature highly during talks between Cypriot President Tassos Papadopoulos and Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis today. Papadopoulos arrived in Athens yesterday and is also due to meet with Papoulias today.
