Boy critical following Christmas stabbing
A 13-year-old boy who was allegedly stabbed during an argument between his mother and her lover on Christmas Day was moved into an intensive-care unit yesterday after his condition worsened. The boy is suffering from internal bleeding and is said to be in a critical condition, according to doctors at the Aglaia Kyriakou hospital in Athens. A 30-year-old man was also injured in the incident but his life is not in danger. The boy’s 35-year-old mother appeared in court yesterday on charges of attempted murder but denied even witnessing the stabbing, which occurred at her home in Nikaia, near Piraeus. The woman’s husband is in jail for a previous offense so her three other children, aged 6 to 11, have been placed in temporary care.
