Foreign Minister George Papandreou (r) greets US Secretary of State Colin Powell under the gaze of Turkish Foreign Minister Ismail Cem at NATO’s meeting of foreign ministers in Reykjavik, Iceland, yesterday. Papandreou and Cem will meet today with their counterparts from Bulgaria and Romania. Greece and Turkey support the entry of these two countries in NATO. Meanwhile, Greece continues to oppose a deal whereby Turkey will have a say in EU military operations.
