City’s sidewalks…

Parents pushing their children in strollers joined disabled citizens in wheelchairs, cyclists and other protesters to demand access to the capital’s sidewalks in a demonstration on Saturday. The rally, which started on Academias Street and culminated in Exarchia Square, was aimed at highlighting the problems experienced daily by pedestrians in Athens as the city’s sidewalks are increasingly blocked by parked cars, including large sports utility vehicles. A similar demonstration was held in Trikala, central Greece.
