Arrests put end to girl’s ordeal

A 15-year-old girl abducted eight months ago, then raped, beaten, injected with heroin and forced into prostitution, was being treated in hospital yesterday following her release and the arrest of three of her captors on Thursday night. Police said yesterday the girl, an ethnic Greek from Albania who lived in the prefecture of Ileia in the western Peloponnese with her parents, had been abducted by an Albanian woman, Angelina Likmeia, who asked her out for a coffee and then knocked her out with an anaesthetic spray. Likmeia took her to an apartment in Athens where she sold her to an Iraqi, Adnan Hasan, who, along with three other Iraqis who have been arrested, repeatedly raped and tortured the girl, gave her heroin to keep her docile and forced her to prostitute herself. Following a tip-off, police arrested Rebuar Aziz, 27, Alan Arif, 23, and Feriad Abdul, 34, and are seeking Hasan, Likmeia and two Greeks – Dimitris Fotopoulos, 26, and a man identified as Costas, who allegedly used to take the girl to customers. The girl is under medical and psychiatric supervision.
