A Mediterranean Union…
Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Zapatero and his wife Sonsoles Espinosa are seen visiting the site of the Parthenon yesterday. Zapatero is today due to meet Greek Premier Costas Karamanlis for talks expected to focus on the creation of a Mediterranean Union. The union, first proposed by French President Nicolas Sarkozy, would bring together European Union states and countries washed by the Mediterranean Sea, including Turkey. The future of the European Union and regional cooperation as well as bilateral ties are also on the agenda of talks.
