Rising crime…

Residents and store owners held a rally in the Exarchia district of central Athens yesterday to protest against rising crime, especially the use of drugs, in the area, which is notorious for the actions of anarchist groups who often attack police and throw firebombs at cars and banks. Locals demanded a greater police presence and more effort from the government and local authorities to improve the area. The residents claim they have been buffeted from one authority to the other in their search for help in cleaning up Exarchia.
