A peaceful march…

The Ianos bookstore in central Athens was one of the businesses targeted yesterday evening by troublemakers at the end of a peaceful march through the city center that was organized by leftist and social rights groups to protest a recent grenade attack on a building known as ‘the immigrants’ hangout.’ Self-styled anarchists clashed with police on Stadiou Street. Rocks were thrown at policemen, who responded by letting off stun grenades and using tear gas. Some storefronts and two parked cars were attacked by youths. There were no reports of any injuries or arrests.
