‘Finland’s recipe’…
President Karolos Papoulias reviews a guard of honor in Helsinki with his Finnish counterpart Tarja Halonen yesterday. Speaking to Greek reporters after talks with Halonen, Papoulias said that he proposed Greece follow ‘Finland’s recipe’ for fighting corruption in public life, namely ‘such a level of transparency that essentially no one dares do anything wrong.’ The Greek president also responded to Finnish reporters’ questions about last December’s riots in Athens, describing them as ‘an uprising of young people who expressed their rage at everything they disagree with and everything that makes them suffer.’
