Vouli TV cameraman tied to child porn ring
Parliament Speaker Filippos Petsalnikos yesterday ordered the termination of the contract of a 30-year-old state television cameraman working for Parliament’s channel, Vouli TV, after it emerged that the latter is one of 55 suspected members of a child pornography racket broken by police this week. Officers of the force’s electronic crimes unit are now expected to inspect Parliament’s computer network to determine whether the 30-year-old used it to trade in sexually explicit photographs and videos of children. According to officers, who traced suspects in 16 Greek cities as part of a four-month investigation, the material traded by the racket featured children aged as young as 2. Of the 17 people arrested, one is a university professor, another a physical education teacher and several others are businessmen, police said.
