Falling rocks create traffic hazard on highway

Traffic was diverted for several hours on a section of the national highway linking the northwestern city of Ioannina to Arta in western Greece yesterday after a landslide sent large rocks tumbling onto the asphalt. There were no reports of any injuries following the rockfall which occurred some 19 kilometers outside Ioannina. The rocks had been cleared from the road surface by the afternoon and traffic returned to normal.
