GREEKS TWICE OVER: A total of 418 Greek army and air force officers and men who had been serving in Korea have arrived in Piraeus aboard the American transport ship General Moore. Defense Minister Panayiotis Kanellopoulos addressed the following welcome to the returning heroes: «Welcome back to Greece! (…) You left for Korea as Greeks and you have now returned from there as Greeks twice over.» KARAMANLIS’S PROJECTS: The public works minister, Mr Constantine Karamanlis, has announced that in accordance with the public works program in Athens following the acceptance of bids on February 18, construction will begin on a second route between Glyfada and Faliron. (…) Work is also to begin on improving the coastline. (…) In addition, a 5.2-kilometer road parallel to the Kifissia-Ekali road will be built. The construction of Kavalas Avenue will relieve traffic on the Iera Odos. (…) Finally, a study has been commissioned on the complete renovation of Patission and Kifissias avenues (…) following the replacement of the trams with trolley buses and the removal of the tramlines. PAPAGOS-PERON: The prime minister, Field Marshal Papagos, has sent a signed photograph to General Peron of Argentina, in response to a similar compliment from the Argentinean president.
