A lot of hot air versus action

PASOK ministers entering a contest for the Socialist party?s leadership will have to prove that they are capable of handling issues within their own ministries before trying to persuade us that they are ready to lead the entire country.

How can someone who has failed miserably in a ministerial post by not carrying out any reforms or making substantial spending cuts nurture hopes of contesting the premiership?

The days when politicians had the power to win over the Greek people thanks to their power to persuade on television and their oratory skills are over.

Greek citizens are now demanding effective, sufficient and decent management. Whether we like or not, the much demonized troika is actually giving us the chance to measure the effectiveness of our politicians in crucial sectors.

It will take harder work conducted in silence for politicians to be convincing these days. There is no need for bold words and publicity stunts.
