Let experts tackle the tough stuff

Populism, as it turns out, is the enemy of reason. It appears that some people suddenly realized that the salaries of certain executives operating in a number of crucial state organizations are incredibly high.

Others are troubled by the fact that the Greek Republic pays extra in order to use foreign consultants and lawyers when it comes to particularly complex missions, such as privatizations and the recapitalization of banks.

At one point, however, we must, as a society, accept the idea that certain positions ought to be paid more as they need to be staffed by the market?s finest.

International experience has shown that working with international consultants and law firms is mandatory, as they are the only ones with the necessary know-how and infrastructure when it comes to negotiating with global giants.

Populist fans who adhere to the theory of high-ranking, state-dependent civil servants and badly paid executives with no qualifications handling cases which are worth billions, should come to their senses.
