When reason prevails

The investment made by Chinese shipping giant Cosco at the port of Piraeus’s two cargo terminals is an illustration of the potential that Greece has for growth when reason prevails over passion.

To a great extent, the reason why the investment has been such a success is due to the productivity and effort of the Greek workers at the facilities.

Greece is endowed with a unique strategic location as well as with very capable and hardworking people who have nothing to envy in their European peers.

But let us just cast our minds back to how much hostility was aimed at this investment when it was first announced, at the fuss that was made as it began taking shape, purely as a means of serving political squabbles and prejudices. Only when we are able to disengage ourselves from the obsessions and prejudices of the past are we able to do great things and move forward.
