Provoking parental ire

The one thing Greeks parents want more than anything else is to see their children do well in their studies so that one day they can secure a decent job and living. This is their greatest concern and source of anxiety. And it is this concern that sets the majority of Greek parents against the destructive strikes being called by educators to coincide with the national university entrance exams.

The unionists who have organized this strike and who insist on taking action that will pit a large part of society against them should consider this very carefully. They need to grow up, act responsibly and maturely, and be aware of the repercussions of their decisions.

Most importantly, they need to realize that Greek society has gone through a lot lately and that its tolerance is being exhausted by mindless actions that make the day-to-day lives of citizens even harder and have an impact on the future as well.
