KING AND QUEEN IN USA: Washington, 29 – The schedule for the second day of the visit to Washington by King Pavlos and Queen Frederiki of Greece as guests of President Dwight D. Eisenhower was full of official appointments. The royal couple paid their respects to the historical traditions of the American people. In a speech, the Greek king spoke of the need to unite all free peoples who believed in eternal moral values, in contrast to materialist philosophies. KARAMANLIS: The public works minister, Mr Constantine Karamanlis, leaves tomorrow for the Peloponnese for an on-site inspection and to organize the works programmed by his ministry. Mr Karamanlis will visit the towns of Kalamata, Megalopolis, Tripolis, Gytheion, Sparta, Argos and Nafplion. HOSTAGES: The coordinating committee of the Hostages Association of Attica, in a memorandum to the minister for coordination, Mr Spyros Markezinis, has asked the minister to go to West Germany to try to resolve claims for compensation from the German government, as has occurred with the hostages in all free nations of Europe.
