OMONIA SQUARE: During the latest meeting of the municipal council of Athens, it was decided to remove the flower stalls from Omonia Square to Kotzia Square in front of the Town Hall. The flower sellers will be installed in similar, attractive flower stalls, after the removal of the postcard sellers. Once it is cleared, Omonia Square will be flattened and turned over to pedestrian traffic. THE SOLDIER’S SHIRT: The welfare society «The Soldier’s Shirt» has announced that in December, following an agreement with the Army General Staff, an initial shipment of 1,170 boxes and 672 bags containing 21,000 pairs of boots, 15,000 greatcoats, 40,000 pairs of socks and 50,000 cartons of cigarettes worth 8 billion drachmas was sent to Thrace, Macedonia and Epirus to meet the needs of the National Security Brigade members serving in border areas. SOCCER: During a soccer match yesterday in Aigion between Austria Graz and Panaigeialeio, the former team won 6-1. The Greek team had been boosted by the presence of Serafeidis.
