Reveling in failure
Blind rage currently reigns supreme in public dialogue and, unfortunately, this sort of behavior appears to be encouraged by the country’s own political forces.
Many people seem to be rejoicing, for instance, at the prospect of a major media company ceasing operations.
They care nothing about the hundreds of members of staff and suppliers who would have to bear the cost if the company shuts down.
They don’t seem to wonder why at this particularly difficult point in time robust shareholders are not backing a business which did well in the past.
Nor do they consider who will pay the heavy cost of the media company’s accumulated loans if the business ends up folding.
Everything is being sacrificed in the name of publicity and making an impression and very few are thinking about who stands to benefit from such a development.
