OPINION

No more time-wasting

The government wasted almost 10 months before wrapping up the review of the country’s bailout agreement with international creditors and securing the release of further funds. The negative consequences of this delay are evident at every level of society and particularly in the suffering economy.

Even the government itself has realized and almost admitted that dragging out the negotiations did not benefit the progress of the talks themselves nor did it come to any good for the administration on a political level.

Let us hope that the same mistakes are not repeated when the second review begins in the fall, after all the necessary legislation is passed.

More importantly, let us hope that the government manages to behave like a coherent and unified team, without the various mistakes that have been made by its ministers so far.
