An explosive mix

A combination of excessive taxation and higher social security contributions is bound to prove disastrous. Companies and individual taxpayers are desperately seeking ways to make ends meet. People are once more turning to the shadow economy and doing so without hesitation.

Lawyers and accountants are rushing to answer questions on how to transfer company headquarters to other countries or how to avoid tax disasters. And the reason for all this is that the government wants to keep its ‘clients’ happy.

Hard-working Greeks who meet their obligations are being driven to the edge. They are angry that they see no benefits from paying their taxes, whether in terms of healthcare or education, sectors which have surrendered to party politics.

The state is constantly after these people and the taxes they are called to pay are unbearable. If the government believes this is the way to growth, it should think again.

One thing is for certain: this mix will lead to an explosion; not that of the economy but of society.
