Only in Greece

The repeated incidents of violence in cities across the country have undoubtedly had a negative impact on Greece, including its image around the world.

It stands to reason that the proliferation of attacks of vandalism is also linked to the fact that the present government always seems to cave in to the demands of anti-establishment groups.

This is particularly troublesome given that the leftist-led government is currently striving to convince the world that Greece has at long last become a normal country and that stability has returned after a long hiatus and much uncertainty.

The attacks against ministries, courts, foreign missions and the offices of big organizations have become part and parcel of Greek reality and this is not lost on foreign observers.

The frequency with which street violence and vandalism occur is not the norm in other European countries and Greece simply cannot allow this phenomenon to continue.
