FIRST POSTWAR COINS: Sixteen million coins of 5, 2 and 1 drachmas have been delivered by ship and handed over to the Bank of Greece. The coins were ordered from a French mint and more will be delivered soon. Their date of circulation has not yet been decided. JOBLESS MAN ATTEMPTS SUICIDE: An 18-year-old man who was out of work and living temporarily in Petroupolis, tried to commit suicide on the rock of the Areopagus, on the hill of the Pnyx, by drinking a strong dose of DDT. He was taken to the General State Hospital in a coma. AMERICAN AID:Yesterday morning at a ceremony in Piraeus, Welfare Minister Mr Solomonidis took delivery of 227 tons of butter donated by the US government for the needs of welfare foundations.
