CYPRUS AND THIRD WORLD: New York, 13 – Representatives of the Arab states have been directed by their governments to support Greece’s position on the Cyprus issue only after exhausting all their «good services» toward both sides in order to find a mediated solution in the spirit of satisfying the Cypriot people’s demand for self-determination. It was announced that the Arab League had made the decision on September 9 in Cairo. This was reported by a source who spoke with the representative of Egypt, Dr Fahmi, who has just arrived. This source also reported that representatives of the Arab states here are to have a series of meetings on their tactics and strategy on the Cyprus issue.
