Painful imbalance

No amount of digital modernization is enough to upgrade the classic Greek public sector software. Civil servants in key areas of the state apparatus seem keen to treat the lockdown as an opportunity for a semi-vacation.

The imbalance is painful. Citizens so often find it hard to get things done when dealing with the state sector. On top of that, many of them are also suffering the economic fallout of the pandemic, an alien concept for those who fail to serve.
