ARRESTS: Deputy Interior Minister Mr Vrachnos made the following statement yesterday afternoon on recent arrests in Iraklion, Crete, of communist outlaws active on the island for a long time, as well as of their accomplices who harbored them. Altogether, 15 communists and 17 others were exiled from the island within a year. There are still 10 communist outlaws, one of whom is a woman, remaining in Crete. Another 20 are still at large. JENNY KAREZI: This evening the premiere of Andre Roussin’s comedy «La Belle Helene» is to be performed at the Kotopouli (Rex) Theater. Apart from Melina (Mercouri), who is to play the leading role, also appearing are Vassilis Diamantopoulos, Pantelis Zervos, the young actress Jenny Karezi, who has distinguished herself at the Royal Theater’s Drama School, and Mr Stefanos Linaios. FRENCH DONATION: The education minister, Mr Achilleas Gerokostopoulos, has announced that the University of Montpellier has sent 650,000 francs collected by its staff and students in order to support schools in earthquake-stricken areas. The money has been given to schools in Farsala, Argostoli, Zakynthos and Lixouri.
