ARISTOTLE ONASSIS: London, 18 – The Panama government has instructed its ambassador in Lima to protest at the «armed» action by the Peruvian navy and the seizure of seven whaling ships owned by Mr Aristotle Onassis. According to an official announcement, the Panamanian ambassador in Lima has called for the lifting of any action against the crews of the vessels which are Panamanian-flagged. (…) According to reports from New York, Panama’s representative to the UN, Mr Morales, visited UN Secretary-General Dag Hammarskold and told him that his government had referred the issue of Onassis’s whaling boats to the Pan-American Organization, and reserved the right to raise the issue with the UN. ARRESTS: The interior minister, Mr Vrachnos, has announced that Athens general security has arrested four senior cadres of the illegal Communist Party of Greece (KKE). They are: Georgios Koutroukis, 36, a lawyer; Poyxeni Akritidou, 40; Stylianos Mavrommatis, a student at the Polytechnic; and Anna Emmanouilidou, 28, a student at the French Academy. MARIA CALLAS: Maria Meneghini Callas, or Kalogeropoulou, will appear this year at the Chicago Opera in her first appearance in the US.
