PAPAGOS’S ILLNESS: Prime Minister Field Marshal Alexandros Papagos went to the palace yesterday to greet Queen Mother of Romania Helen, who arrived in Greece the day before yesterday. The prime minister availed himself of the opportunity to discuss various domestic and foreign affairs with the king (Pavlos). (Ed. note: Papagos no doubt informed the king of his intention to travel to Switzerland to undergo medical tests. His plans were announced the next day to the press as a «short break for a rest.») EGYPT-GREECE 3-1: According to reports from Cairo, a soccer match between the national teams of Greece and Egypt took place there in the presence of Prime Minister Abdel Gamal Nasser, the king of Transjordan, Greek Ambassador Mr Melas, the Greek consul general and other officials, as well as a crowd of some 15,000 spectators. The Egyptian team won the match 3-1. The only Greek goal was scored by Kotzabasidis. The Greek team consisted of the following: Apergis, Aloupis, Kourtzidis, Polyzos, Linoxylakis, Nebidis, Emmanouilidis, Yientzis, Kotzabasidis, Kamaras and Panakis.
