EOKA STRUGGLE: Nicosia, 20 – Two unidentified masked men approached a British military camp near Famagusta yesterday evening but were chased away by the British guards. According to reports from Famagusta today, the entire area around the British camp at Karaolos has been placed out of bounds and non-British workers entering and leaving the camp are being subjected to searches. During the night, posts guarded by armed police officers were set up at various strategic points linking the main towns. The guards at the posts have been searching vehicles for arms and explosives. The military governor of the Nicosia region today warned the British military and their families of a «likely increase in actions against British military installations and the homes of British officers.» EDA: The administrative committee of the United Democratic Left (EDA) has issued an announcement emphasizing that the political parties and people comprising EDA remain firm in their support for the inter-party character of the organization, and that all participate democratically in its administration.
