AMNESTY FOR ‘IDEA’: The government yesterday informed King Pavlos of its decision to grant amnesty to the officers belonging to the military association known as The Sacred Bond of Greek Officers (IDEA) and who took part in the events of May 31, 1951. The decision provides for a decree granting amnesty for criminal offenses but does not lift the disciplinary sanctions imposed on the officers. GREECE-SOVIET UNION: Paris, 23 – At today’s debate by the Human Rights Commission on the way to implement the self-determination of subjugated peoples, the Soviet alliance backed Greece’s proposal and asked for its approval and its sincere implementation by all UN member states. The Canadian representative also supported the Greek amendment. Convicted
