PAPAGOS’S HEALTH: It has been announced that before their departure for Thessaloniki yesterday, King Paul and Queen Frederika visited the prime minister, Field Marshal Alexandros Papagos, at his home in Ekali where they held a long conversation with him. Papagos was visited this morning by Foreign Minister Mr Stephanos Stephanopoulos for a meeting that lasted from 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. The minister briefed the prime minister on all political and other issues. According to an announcement, the prime minister’s health has improved considerably over the past few days. However, he will need to stay at his home for a few more days in order for him to completely recover his strength. PAUL: Thessaloniki, 28 – The university today bestowed upon King Paul an honorary doctorate from the School of Theology, in a glittering ceremony in honor of «this deeply religious man, the leader of every good work.» PROJECTS: The minister for transport and public works, Mr Constantine Karamanlis, yesterday inspected work on the landscaping of Stadiou Square and around the Acropolis. The minister then went to Keratsini to observe progress on the sewage network under construction.
