WAR CRIMES: The Greek national war crimes bureau is to ask the governments of Italy and West Germany to prosecute about 450 Italians and Germans accused of various war crimes committed during the wartime occupation (of Greece). Among them are the German ambassador during the occupation, Mr Altenburg, and the diplomatic staff of the German Embassy in Athens, the Italian governor of the Ionian Islands, Mr Parini, Albanian and Italian subjects Nebil Dino and Nouri Dino, who are accused of slaughtering 20,000 inhabitants of Tsamourgia in Epirus, and the board of the German firm Dedriges, among others. The war crimes bureau has repeatedly asked the Italian and German governments for the extradition of the above-mentioned people, but to no avail. OPERA PERFORMANCE IN PATRAS: The Greek Odeon is giving a performance on Saturday, April 26, at the Pantheon Theater in Patras, of «Maestro Barnabas,» directed by Spyros Galogeras with D. Helmis as choir director. The Greek Odeon women’s choir of Patras is also participating, directed by D. Sichouris. LORD HALIFAX: Lord Halifax, who is staying in Athens for the present, attended Easter celebrations with the Palace Guard.
