Political focus where it should be

Tne may agree or disagree with what political party leaders said in Parliament yesterday but one cannot help but admit that politics has returned to its natural environment (that is, Parliament House) and with the right agenda (meaning the country’s real problems). Even if for a brief time, the country has managed to escape the virtual reality imposed by the one-dimensional evening news bulletins. After the sour mood in the wake of Christos Zachopoulos’s failed suicide attempt, yesterday’s session was like a breath of fresh air. The debate focused on a burning issue that concerns all Greeks: the reform of the social security issue. We can only hope that politics is here to stay.
