EDA: The leader of the United Democratic Left (EDA) Ioannis Passalidis said that his party had never suggested rejecting the West and was in favor of friendship with all nations as well as assuring that he did not want to change the social system. Greece is not at risk of being trapped behind the Iron Curtain, he said. «If you really want the country to get ahead, then you should grant an amnesty,» he told the government in a parliamentary debate. Interior Minister Dimitris Makris said the state would not lift the most fundamental security measures, as that would be stupid. He warned that any trick attempted against the ruling class would be crushed by the government in the harshest possible manner. REVOLUTIONARY LEADER FIDEL CASTRO: Washington, 24 – Fidel Castro, the leader of an anti-dictatorial movement, is now writing a new chapter in the revolutions of Latin America that is entirely of his own making. Castro, and not the government, is the power in Cuba. Whatever happens there to create a stable government base within the chaos of terrorism is exclusively his own work. The process of revenge did not begin the first day, but a week later, after Washington had recognized the new government.
