NEO-NAZI ANTI-SEMITISM: London, 8 – Ten thousand residents of West Berlin this evening held a silent candlelight vigil expressing their abhorrence at the reappearance of Nazi emblems and a hate campaign against Jews. The demonstrators carried banners proclaiming «Down with racial hatred and Nazi graffiti targeting Jews.» The demonstrators marched toward the Steinplatz monuments in the district of Charlottenburg, which were erected in memory of the victims of Nazism and Stalinism. This was the first peaceful mass anti-Nazi demonstration since 1933, when Adolf Hitler took power… Although there have been no overt manifestations in Germany of anti-Semitism, which is a serious problem for the government, the swastika has been appearing in countries of the free world. There have been reports of such incidents in various parts of the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Portugal, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Canada, Morocco and Hong Kong. AMERICAN AID: US aid to Greece in the July 1, 1959 to June 30, 1960 fiscal year will total $81 million, excluding the cost of military equipment, the US Embassy said in an official announcement.
