Greek-American filmmaker seeks support for project funding

An aspiring young Greek-American filmmaker, Krystal White, has the vision, the screenplay, the director and the cast for her first short film, but like many struggling artists is missing the cash to get her project off the ground.

Inspired by her life and the mythology of Greece, where she grew up, White?s semiautobiographical short ?Persephone? will tell a story of forbidden love between a dancer and a piano player.

The Los Angeles-based filmmaker has already secured the cooperation of award-winning Greek-Australian actor-director Louis Mandylor of ?My Big Fat Greek Wedding? fame, as well as Lainie Kazan to co-star beside her.

White, 28, was born in the United States to a Greek mother and American father, but was brought up in Greece, where she attended the American Community Schools of Athens.

Today she is looking to raise $15,000 by September 15 to fund the making of ?Persephone.? Anyone interested in supporting her campaign can log on to:
