Baha and Mateos added to AEK roster

On February 1 AEK presented its two new players, Nabil Baha and David Mateos, who along with Michel are the three additions to the Athens club’s roster this winter, all of them on loan deals until the end of the season.

Baha, a French-born Moroccan striker, belongs to Malaga and has 20 caps with the Morocco national team.

David Mateos Ramajo belongs to Real Madrid. The Spanish 23-year-old is a central defender and if his international playing certificate arrives by the afternoon of February 2 he may well start the Cup game against Panathinaikos that evening.

Asked which two of his four central defenders he would prefer to field, AEK coach Manolo Jimenez stated: «Up until yesterday [Costas] Manolas and [Traianos] Dellas were regular starters, with [Cristian] Nasuti as backup. Now, with Mateos, when all four of them are fit we will lock them in a room, turn the light off and the two to survive will play!»

AEK also tried to get Panserraikos’s 23-year-old striker Giorgos Georgiadis on board during the January transfer window, but the two clubs failed to reach an agreement.
