Zambidis retains his title

Michalis Zambidis, also known as «Iron Mike,» retained his world super-welter-weight title in kickboxing by beating Dutch-Turk Ali Gunyar in Piraeus on March 12.

Zambidis was greeted by fervent support from 7,000 people at the Peace and Friendship Stadium at Neo Faliro and went on the offense from the outset.

Gunyar defended himself well but suffered a storm of blows in the fourth round that led to Iron Mike’s victory on points.

Zambidis remains unbeaten on Greek soil.
