Greens stroll to a win in Croatia

KK Zagreb was no match for Panathinaikos on October 26 as the European champion strolled past the Croatian side with an 81-62 score in Zagreb.

The Greeks dominated the game from start to finish, and even stretched their lead by up to 33 points two minutes from the end of the third period (59-26), before taking their collective foot off the gas.

Nick Calathes was Panathinaikos’s best player on the night, scoring 12 points and collecting six rebounds.

Romain Sato was the Greens’ top scorer with 13 points on the night, while Steven Smith is showing that coach Zeljko Obradovic can rely on him for the new season, after scoring 12 points in 18 minutes in Zagreb.

This was the second win for Panathinaikos in as many Euroleague group games.
