Reds net seven against Asteras Tripolis
Olympiakos needs just two more points to win the Super League title mathematically after dismantling a hapless Asteras Tripolis 7-2 on Sunday, although it had been trailing 2-1 at halftime.
Belgian striker Kevin Mirallas scored four goals for the Reds, a career first, while Pablo Orbaiz, Rafik Djebbour and David Fuster completed Olympiakos’s biggest win this season. Ximo Navarro and Rogerio Martins had given Asteras a 2-0 lead in the 16th minute.
Panathinaikos bounced back from three defeats to beat OFI 1-0 on Crete on Saturday. Silva Cleyton scored after 17 minutes from a solo effort to separate the two sides.
Atromitos, in third, downed 10-man Xanthi 1-0 at home thanks to a Costas Mitroglou goal eight minutes from time.
PAOK thrashed Kerkyra 4-0 away to stay fourth, with two goals by Costin Lazar, followed by AEK, which beat visiting Panetolikos 1-0 thanks to a Nikos Liberopoulos strike after a wonderful solo effort by Leonardo.
Nine-man Ergotelis snatched an injury-time equalizer at PAS Giannina (1-1), while Aris moved up to sixth after coming from behind to beat Panionios 4-2, and Levadiakos won 2-0 at bottom club Doxa Dramas.
